In an effort to mitigate the effect of the COVID crisis on our RMHA family, the Board of Directors have met with the Medicine Hat Minor Hockey Association (MHMHA) and formulated what we feel is the best plan moving forward to ensure our players all have a quick and seamless return to hockey while following the return to hockey guidelines presented by AHS and Hockey Alberta.
In order to minimize the quarantine periods between evaluations for all levels, all Redcliff players aged U11 (Atom) and older will be evaluated in groups with Medicine Hat players. This will ensure all players including kids who wish to remain in Redcliff as well as kids who have paid the MHMHA tryout fee and wish to play a higher level in MH are evaluated as efficiently as possible. This eliminates the 14 day quarantine that Redcliff would have to adhere to after the MHMHA CAHL evaluations.
This plan allows for the best possible season in either the best or worst case COVID scenarios. If current restrictions remain, our players will practice with their teams and be grouped in a 50 person cohort of like skilled players and allowed to play in a modified game environment. In best case, our players have been evaluated and put on the teams they belong to and are ready for CAHL hockey.
Points to consider:
U7 (Initiation) and U9 (Novice) teams will not be evaluated and will remain in Redcliff.
Due to the start dates of the evaluation process, all players must be registered by WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2020.
Some registration information:
When you registered your player, you were given the option of paying in full or paying a $100 deposit. If you chose the deposit method, it was then stated that the first half of the remaining fees due would be charged on August 31st and the remaining half of what was due will be charged on Sept 15th.
Follow the facebook page and website for information updates regarding evaluation times.
